A Jump Axe Kick is a variation of an Axe Kick in which one jumps into the kick (similar to a Jump Front Kick.
- Just as with the Jump Front Kick, you jump with the same leg that you kick with.
- The off-leg doesn't jump. Instead, leading up to the jump, you hike that knee into the air in order to give your body some upward momentum.
- Then once in the air, you quickly raise the kicking leg and then kick.
This is different from the Skip Axe Kick, in which the off-leg provides a very slight jump (i.e., a skip, or forward hop).
