Written Instructions Edit

  • Begin from ready stance (junbi seogi).
  • 1. Move the left foot to turn 90 left into Right Back Stance (i.e., left foot forward, oreun dwitkubi) and execute a Diamond Block (keumgang momtong makgi).
    • You chamber for the above movement by turning the head to look to the left, and performing a Hinge Block on your right side.
  • 2. With the feet fixed, pivot the torso very slightly to the left and execute a High Pulling Uppercut (dangkyo teok jireugi).
    • You chamber for the above movement by aiming the left arm forward, and putting the right fist against the ribcage, a bit below the right armpit, palm down.
  • 3. Pull the left foot toward the right foot into Parallel Stance (naranhiseogi) and execute a Left Outward Knifehand Strike (sonnal bakkat chigii).
    • When you pull the left foot toward the right foot, make sure you still leave the enough width between the two feet to make Parallel Stance. Many beginners accidentally pull the left foot all the way to the right foot, so that the feet are touching -- this is a mistake.
  • 4. Slide the left foot to the right foot, then move the right foot into Left Back Stance (i.e., right foot forward, wen dwitkubi) and execute a Diamond Block (keumgang momtong makgi).
  • 5. With the feet fixed, pivot slightly to the front and execute a High Pulling Uppercut (dangkyo teok jireugi).
  • 6. Pull the right foot toward the left foot into Parallel Stance (naranhiseogi) and execute a Right Outward Knifehand Strike (sonnal bakkat chigii).
  • 7. Slide the right foot to the left foot, then move the left foot forward into Right Back Stance (i.e., left foot forward, oreun dwitkubi) and execute a Double Knifehand Block (sonnalmaki).
  • 8a. With the left foot fixed, execute a Right Front Kick (oreunbal apchagi).
  • 8b. Set the right foot down into Right Front Stance (oreun apkubi), execute a Right Vertical Fingertip Thrust (pyonsonkkuet sewotzireugi).
  • 9a. Slide the left foot slightly rightward so that you can pivot your body counterclockwise to a Front Stance. Your body will now be facing the original starting direction, with your head looking over your right shoulder. Bring the right hand to the the back of the belt, palm facing outward. The left knifehand is chambered palm-down at the right shoulder blade.
  • 9b. Turn and step 180° counterclockwise to begin heading into a Left Front Stance (wen apkubi).
  • 9c. In Left Front Stance (wen apkubi), execute a Left Outward Hammerfist Strike (mejumeok bakkat chigii) at the height of the temple.
  • 10. Stepping forward with the right foot into Right Front Stance (oreun apkubi), execute a Right Punch (momtong bandae jireugi). Kihap.
  • 11. Turn 270° counterclockwise into Right Back Stance (i.e., left foot forward, oreun dwitkubi) and execute a Diamond Block (keumgang momtong makgi).
    • As with the first line of the form, you chamber for the Diamond Block by first hinging your fists to the right.
  • 12. With the feet fixed, pivot slightly to the front and execute a High Pulling Uppercut (dangkyo teok jireugi).
  • 13. Pull the left foot toward the right foot into Parallel Stance (naranhiseogi) and execute a Left Outward Knifehand Strike (sonnal bakkat chigii).
  • 14. Slide the left foot to the right foot, then slide the right foot into Left Back Stance (i.e., right foot forward, wen dwitkubi) and execute a Diamond Block (keumgang momtong makgi).
  • 15. With the feet fixed, pivot slightly to the front and execute a High Pulling Uppercut (dangkyo teok jireugi).
  • 16. Pull the right foot toward the left foot into Parallel Stance (naranhiseogi) and execute a Right Outward Knifehand Strike (sonnal bakkat chigii).
  • 17. Slide the right foot to the left foot, then move the left foot forward into Right Back Stance (i.e., left foot forward, oreun dwitkubi) and execute a Double Knifehand Block (sonnal momtong makgi).
  • 18a. With the left foot fixed, execute a Right Front Kick (oreunbal apchagi).
  • 18b. Set the right foot down into Right Front Stance (oreun apkubi), execute a Right Vertical Fingertip Thrust (pyonsonkkuet sewotzireugi).
  • 19a. Slide the left foot slightly rightward so that you can pivot your body counterclockwise to a Front Stance. Your body will now be facing the original forward direction, with your head looking over your right shoulder. Bring the right knifehand palm-inward to the right side of your chin. The left knifehand is chambered palm-down below the right elbow.
  • 19b-c. Turn and step 180° counterclockwise to begin heading into a Left Front Stance (wen apkubi).
  • 19d. Step into Left Front Stance (wen apkubi) and execute a Left Outward Hammerfist Strike (mejumeok bakkat chigii) at abdomen height.
  • 20. Moving the right foot, step forward into Right Front Stance (oreun apkubi) and execute a Right Punch (momtong bandae jireugi). Kihap.
  • 21. Turn 270 counter-clockwise into Horse-riding Stance (juchumseogi) and execute a Left Low Side Block (arae yop makgi).
  • 22. Slide the left foot and pivot into Left Front Stance (wen apkubi) and execute a Right Punch (momtong baro jireugi).
  • 23. Slide the left foot to ready stance then move the right foot into Horse-riding Stance (juchumseogi) and execute a Right Low Side Block (arae yop makgi).
  • 24. Slide the right foot and pivot into Right Front Stance (oreun apkubi) and execute a Left Punch (momtong baro jireugi).
  • Moving the right foot, return to ready stance. If you did everything right, you should wind up back where you started.
